Information for Parents
Playing with smiles on our faces
We believe the most important thing with junior hockey is that players should enjoy it. Mastering skills & fitness is important and improves performance and results, but we want our juniors to continue playing into adulthood. That means making the club environment supportive so that players feel they can learn from mistakes, not be criticised for them.
We also take safeguarding & protecting young people very seriously and follow all the England Hockey procedures. If you have any concerns over poor coach practice or a member's / coach's behaviour, please contact our Welfare Officer.
Details on our safeguarding policies may be found on our welfare page.
Routes to Representative Hockey
We encourage all juniors to aim to represent their county if they wish. We'll let parents know if we recommend attending the training sessions (Junior Development Centres) where players recieving coaching and hopefully selection for age-based county hockey.
