Sport Nottinghamshire's vision is: Nottinghamshire, the sporting county.

Our mission is to bring together the key sectors to ensure that everyone in Nottinghamshire has the opportunity to participate in sport and to reach their full potential.

Sport Nottinghamshire, the County Sports Partnership for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, is a multi-agency partnership established as part of the Single System for Sport in England. The partnership includes agencies from the local community, national governing bodies, sport, education and health that are committed to working together through sport and leisure to improve the quality of life for Nottinghamshire residents.

A rich vein of sporting achievement runs through the county and people throughout the world associate the City and County with top teams and sporting heroes. Few counties are able to rival our range of facilities, the number of professional clubs and the quality of work by National Governing Bodies and Local Authorities alike.

By investing in people and facilities, we aim to:

  • · Develop local talent in sport
  • · Promote international events
  • · Increase participation in sport
  • · Encourage structured competitive activity
  • · Promote the value of sport in improving quality of life
  • · Advocate activities such as walking, cycling and swimming as leisure pursuits
  • Sport Nottinghamshire is committed to making sport and active recreation accessible to all sections of the community. In particular, Sport Nottinghamshire will work with others to increase participation amongst people with disabilities, black and minority ethnic communities, women and girls, those on low incomes and people living in rural communities.
